Parking

Visitors are welcome to park in the following lots for free as needed. Please be aware that parking is at your own risk and first come, first serve.  

  • Chassell – 606 Wilsom Memorial Dr, Chassell, MI 49916 
  • Houghton – 409 Memorial Road, Houghton, MI 49931 
  • Calumet – 1400 Lake Linden Ave, Calumet, MI 49913 
    • Pro Tip: This is our Visitor Center parking lot. If you plan to leave your car for the day, please park towards the back of the lot. We welcome you to stop in, grab some brochures, and say “Hi.”
  • Lake Linden – 4th St, Lake Linden, MI 49945 

SNOWMOBILE TRAILERING

Wondering where to park your snowmobile trailer while you are out riding the Keweenaw trail system? There are several places near the trail that graciously allow riders to leave their vehicles. If it’s a business parking lot, make sure to stop inside and let them know you are there.  

  • South RangeThere is a large parking lot across from the VFW by the baseball field available for trailer parking for the 2025/2026 season.
  • City of Houghton—Ray Kestner Waterfront Park
  • CalumetKeweenaw Snowmobile Club Calumet Maintenance Facility & Trailhead
    • The parking lot offers overnight parking for visitors, making it easier for snowmobilers to explore the trails, stay locally, and enjoy Calumet area dining!
  • Laurium—George Gipp Ice Arena (200 Isle Royale St, Laurium, MI 49913)
    • Park in the back on the right (East Side), AWAY from the building.
    • You can also park North of the rink, just before the trailhead and sewer overflow.
    • Do not park in front of the chain link fence.
  • Lake Linden—Jam Service offers parking. Call head to ensure open space. 
  • Copper City—The Drift Inn Bar & Grill offers day/overnight parking in the adjacent lot. They request you call ahead or stop inside the restaurant to let them know length of parking for snow plow planning!
  • Trailer Staging Area in Eagle Harbor—Eagle Harbor Cutoff Road Trailhead.
