Find a Guide

The Keweenaw Peninsula is a fisherman’s dream – surrounded by Great Lake Superior and home to several sizeable inland lakes and waterways. Fish species are plentiful and fishing is exceptional throughout the year, but it takes a certain amount of skill to target and catch the trophies. Fortunately, the Keweenaw Peninsula is home to many professional charter fishing guides who can help you experience the thrill of fishing by providing the knowledge, transportation, and equipment necessary for a successful day of fishing.

Recommended Guided Trip: Stannard Rock

Located way out in the middle of Lake Superior is Stannard Rock Lighthouse. This historic lighthouse is located on a large reef that was considered to be the most serious hazard to navigation on Lake Superior. Once manned by men and deemed “The Loneliest Place in the World,” Stannard Rock Lighthouse now marks the spot of an excellent Lake Trout fishery. If you dare to venture out there today, you may find yourself in the company of a few select anglers and trophy caliber Lake Trout. Due to the remote location of Stannard Rock, it's important that you hire a licensed Captain that has experience with safe navigation on the open waters of Lake Superior.
