Riding the lift at Mont Ripley

Because Mont Ripley is in the snowiest town in the Midwest (Hancock, Michigan, was designated third snowiest city in America by the Weather Channel), not only will you have more opportunity to ski some fresh powder, but its groomed runs are velvety soft corduroy in which hero turns can be made! Although Mont Ripley has a great learning area with a learn-to program to fit your needs and wallet, it is famous for its challenging terrain. From its urban backcountry glades to the terrain parks with more than thirty features—including jumps and slides to challenge your abilities—Mont Ripley is that hidden gem you’ve been looking for.

Tubing Park

Fun for families and anyone young at heart, fly down the mountain side at the Keweenaw's only Tubing Park. Grab your tubing pass at the ticket office and then enjoy hours of exciting runs. The park's tow rope takes you to the top of the hill, so no hiking necessary. The hill offers for tubing lanes with great views of Houghton and the Lift Bridge. Be sure to grab some cocoa at the Chalet to stay warm before your next run! Tubing Park Information

Huskey Cafe

Mont Ripley's Husky Cafe serves up warm food and drinks at the base of the ski hill. Known for good burgers, hot cocoa and the surprisingly rewarding soft-pretzel with chees sauce, it's a great place to warm up and watch skiers and snowboards cruise down the mountain. The grill serves up plenty of hot favorites, but you'll find plenty of options for those with a sweet tooth. You'll also find equipment rentals and restrooms in the base of the building.
