Lock in the date—October 14, 2023—for a race that's taking over the Upper Peninsula in the cutest way possible! Whether you've got a dachshund or a Dane, this is one Halloween bash you won't want to miss. And the best part? You're supporting a fantastic cause—The Copper Country Humane Society.
👟 The Racecourse
Just one block of pure, unadulterated joy down Shelden Avenue, starting at the corner of Isle Royale Street. It's short, it's sweet, and it's loaded with wagging tails!
🐕🦺 Who Can Race?
We've got something for every pooch! We're hosting four race heats:
- Dachshunds (because, let's face it, they're the stars)
- Non-dachshund small breeds (less than 20 pounds)
- Mid-sized breeds (20 to 49 pounds)
- Large breeds (50 pounds or greater)
🎃 Costume Parade
We know our fur-friends love a good strut. Before the race, dogs in their best Halloween attire will make their runway debut. Who will take home the title of "Best Dressed"?
🍬 Treat Street Extravaganza!
Don't forget, we're running alongside the fabulous Treat Street event. Kids can trick-or-treat at local businesses while you indulge in a dog race. Talk about a win-win!
