Friday, June 20, 2025:

  •  The Finnish Long Drink Experience at Small Craft and Takka
    • Time: 3-7 PM
    • Location: Small Craft & Takka Saunas Portage
    • Details: Celebrate the magic of the summer solstice with a bold, refreshing adventure! Start your Juhannus journey at Takka with a plunge into the Long Drink Ice Bath — an invigorating cold dip complete with exclusive giveaways. Conquer the chill and join us at Small Craft, where the waterfront celebration continues with lawn games, crisp sips, and festive swag. Two vibrant spaces, one unforgettable solstice celebration.
  • Canal Rock 
    • Time: 6-9 PM
    • Location: Porvoo Park
    • Details: Enjoy Friday night music in Porvoo Park with the City of Hancock and local band Rewind. Get a good spot for the Juhannuskokko (Midsummer Bonfire) later!
  • Juhannuskokko (a.k.a Midsummer Bonfire) - Sponsored by Keweenaw Waters Resort
    • Time: 7:15 PM
    • Location: Porvoo Park
    • Details: Witness a large Juhannuskokko on the Portage Canal at Porvoo Park. The fire marks the longest day of the year and brings light to the park into the late hours.

    • Details: Join us in celebrating Juhannus - a Finnish summer solstice holiday. We will be hosting a fusion show after the events on Saturday, June 21st! Our fusion show will feature local comedy from Hailey Macias and Drew Stockero, and music from UP favorites Sea Hounds and Addicus!

Takka Saunas: Social Sauna Sessions All Juhannus Weekend 

We’re turning up the heat this Juhannus with open social sauna sessions and cold plunges at Takka Portage!

Whether you're new to sauna or a seasoned steam-seeker, this is the perfect way to celebrate Finnish tradition, connect with the community, and soak in the sweet, sunny vibes of summer. Swing by before or after festival events for a round (or three) of guided heat, cold plunges, and lakeside relaxation.

What to Expect:

  • ❄️ Cold plunge tank & refreshing cold showers
  • 🔥 Outdoor fire pit lounge
  • 💧 Hydration stations + herbal tea
  • 🎶 A relaxed, social atmosphere all weekend long

We’re located just steps from the Portage Canal in Hancock, right next to Small Craft. It’s the perfect wellness reset between all the fun at Quincy Green and Porvoo Park.

Advance booking is recommended, but walk-ins are welcome if space allows. Come solo or bring a friend—this is your chance to experience a modern twist on a timeless Finnish tradition.

 

Saturday @ Lynn Mazzolini Studio 🎨 Mocktails and Muse: Sunshine & Soul (3-5 p.m.)

Celebrate the summer solstice with a soulful painting and meditation experience inspired by the light of Lake Superior. Following a brief guided meditation, participants will create an 8" round sun-themed painting while enjoying refreshing mocktails in a relaxed, creative atmosphere. No experience is needed—all materials are provided.
