Copper Country Craft Beer Exploration
The Keweenaw Brewing Company poured its first beer in April 2002. Since then, it's become an icon in the Michigan craft beer scene and beyond. Brewed in South Range, Michigan and poured fresh in Houghton, Michigan's taproom, this craft brewery has become a meeting place for friends and a destination travel location. Visitors to the taproom can expect a warm family-friendly environment. Cozy up to the fireplace or sit outside and enjoy Canal views from the double-decker patio. Make sure your pilgrimages to the taproom are frequent, as the KBC's brain trust is always divining a seasonal beer to enjoy. Widow Maker Black Ale: this light bodied black ale is widely beloved by all who try. Its name is inspired by the dangerous pneumatic drill once hoisted by Copper Country miners.
Red Jacket Amber Ale: instantly recognizable by the red-tressed beauty on its can, this red ale has notes of Oktoberfest. This unique name is an homage to Calumet's original moniker, itself named after a chief of the Seneca tribe.
November Gale Pale Ale: this American Pale Ale is as cold and refreshing as Lake Superior, but with the signature bite of November's edge.
Point Trail Rye IPA: named after a Copper Harbor mountain bike trail, this hoppy refresher is a perfect pair to your own outdoor adventures!

A trip to the Keweenaw Brewing Company or any of our fine establishments is an adult opportunity to kick back and relax while enjoying a local craft beer, a handmade cocktail, and a darn fine pickled egg. The KBC is an establishment that welcomes all, but craft beers to be enjoyed only by those 21 years of age and older. While the KBC taproom is ideally situated within walking distance from many fine lodging options, always remember to utilize a Designated Driver or one of our local cabs or rideshare drivers after a night on the town.
