About the Race

Established in 1975, the Canal Run is a longtime Keweenaw tradition and one of the region’s premier running events.

The course follows the rolling terrain along the Portage Canal, offering a scenic and rewarding experience for runners and walkers of all levels.

Friday | July 17th

• 3:00 - 8:00 PM: Registration + Bib Pickup (Quincy Green)
  • LAST MINUTE Registration Available In-Person
• 6:00 - 8:00P PM: KEY INGREDIENTS (Downtown Hancock)
  • "Taste of Hancock" - enjoy samples from local businesses
  • Live music, art, and community atmosphere in downtown Hancock

Saturday - Race Day | July 18th

• 6:00 - 8:45 AM: Bib Pickup + Shuttle Service
• 7:15 AM: 10 Mile Walk
• 7:30 AM: Half Marathon + Adaptive Events
• 8:00 AM: 10 Mile Run
• 8:50 - 8:55 AM: 5 Mile Run & Walk
• 9:20 AM: 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk
• 10:30 AM: Kids Dash

Shuttles run from downtown Hancock to each start line, making race day easy to navigate.
