Celebrating A Summer Icon

The Keweenaw Thimbleberry Festival is a fresh take on a beloved tradition — a week of community-rooted events highlighting the tiny berry with big local pride. We’re “reseeding” the celebration with a series of small but flavorful happenings across the Keweenaw.

Join us from August 18-22, 2026 for markets, tastings, family adventures, and more — all connected by the spirit (and flavor!) of the thimbleberry.

• Join the Thimbleberry Lady herself (and other local foodway folks) in a guided jaunt out into nature to learn about thimbleberries, how to find them, and how to pick sustainably.

Thimbleberry Festival Passport

Turn your Keweenaw Thimbleberry Festival week adventure into a game! Check in at participating farmers markets, jam shops, and local businesses to earn points toward a berry sweet prize pack. You don’t have to visit them all, but the more stops you make, the more points you rack up. Start your passport and see where the berries take you!

Sign up for your passport August 1st. Check-ins go live August 18th and close August 24th. Just like the thimbleberry, it's a brief but fruitful season! Happy exploring!
